Shri. K.R.Sundararajan was a renowned educationist, philanthropist and a Professor of Mathematics. His vision to build quality institutions of higher learning led to the formation of the Indian Institute of Engineering Technology in the year 1947. This institute imparted quality Engineering education through its AMIE programme.

He later founded Meenakshi College for Women about three decades ago, in 1975, which now enjoys an enviable track record of having produced very successful young women across the country and even abroad.

Shri KRS (as he was fondly known) was an active leader in the Lions movement which recalls him as “Gods Gift to Lionism”. He has also chaired several honourable posts including Syndicate Member at the University of Madras and during his term has brought in several valuable changes in the education system.
