Information Technology is the buzz word these days and the most happening study discipline too. The Department of Information Technology under Ms. A. Kanimozhi, is young, dynamic and committed to imparting quality education that meets industry standards. By providing the right atmosphere to learn and grasp the fine nuances of the various subjects, students are encouraged to think out of the box and come up with innovative ideas to challenging problems.

AIT


The formation of the Department of Information Technology paved the way for the birth of AIT (Association of Information Technologists). It is a very active body that organizes various activities including workshops, seminars, etc.

ADVAITHA


As a response to the industrial woes about the gap between the academia and the industry, our department has laid stress on giving a more practical insight into their respective field of study by organizing seminars delivered by people from the industry that motivates students to take up research. The one day technical seminar conducted in this academic year included topics such JAVA, J2EE, Web development and inspirational speeches on personality development and corporate communication.

ACADEMICS


The students of the Department of Information Technology have been performing exceedingly well in the university examinations. The department was ranked No. 1 by Anna University ranking.
The Department hosts a suite of exclusive subjects prescribed by the Anna University for the budding IT professional who graduates from this institution. Around 255 students are studying in the current academic year in this discipline.
 
The subjects taught deal with imbibing the right blend of Computer Science subjects such as Object Oriented Programming Concepts, Visual Programming using various languages such as Visual C++, Java, Visual Basic etc and Communication subjects like Electronic Devices, Digital Systems, Telecommunication Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Architecture and Information Coding Techniques. Web technologies such as the powerful J2EE, ASP, VBScripting, JavaScripting etc. are also taught in-depth to train professionals for the ever-growing demands of IT companies.
The department has Sun and Microsoft Certified Professionals and more than a dozen students who aspire to be certified.

ASTHRA


The symposiums/technical fests are a huge success among the students and the participants as well. We, ITians take pride in saying that our past two editions of ASTHRA have meant more than just a mere symposium while ASTHRA’09 urged the students and participants to unite against terrorism and help spread world peace. ASTHRA threw its focus on GLOBAL WARMING, taglined ‘Green Revolution’. ASTHRA tied up with NGO’s like the Indian Youth Climate Network and Exnora to host a wide range of events to support the cause.

SPORTS


We are not just all academics, our students excel in sports and other extra curriciular activities. They have represented the college at various levels and have bought laurels to the institution.
